tcfcan.com vs TCF Monitor: TCF Canada Slot Monitoring Compared (2026)
In one line: if your goal is to catch a slot in a hard-to-get city, a dedicated seat monitor (like TCF Monitor) fits better; if you want to practise and prepare, tcfcan.com is the more relevant choice. They actually solve different problems, and many people use both.
People often ask how tcfcan.com and TCF Monitor (tcfmonitor.com) differ. The key: tcfcan is first and foremost a TCF Canada prep/practice platform: a 5000+ question bank, AI writing grading and speaking practice, mock exams, CLB checks. It also offers seat monitoring (real-time monitoring of all 11 TCF centres in Canada with email alerts), but that is a feature bundled into its prep product, it requires a verified-email account before you can create a monitor, and its monitoring UI is client-rendered (search engines can't crawl it). TCF Monitor, by contrast, is a service dedicated to seat monitoring.

They actually solve different problems
Treating them as "either/or" isn't quite right. tcfcan helps you get your French ready (drilling real questions, AI grading, mock exams); a dedicated seat monitor helps you grab the slot the instant it opens. A common real-world setup is to use both: practise on tcfcan while a dedicated monitor watches the scarce cities.
So which should you use?
- You're ready to sit the exam and just need a slot, in a city that sells out in minutes (Toronto / Vancouver / Calgary) → a dedicated monitor is safer: faster, focused on these cities, and ready to alert you the moment you subscribe by email, no account/login.
- You're still preparing and want to drill questions → tcfcan's question bank and mock exams are the better fit.
- You want both → that's normal: one to practise, one to catch the slot; they don't conflict.
