TCF Canada in Vancouver: Test Centres, Fee and Registration

There is no national TCF Canada registration site: you register directly with the test centre, on its own booking page. In Vancouver that means Alliance Française de Vancouver · Cambie site (6161 Cambie Street, Vancouver); Alliance Française de Vancouver · New Westminster site (320 Columbia Street, New Westminster) — official booking page on www.alliancefrancaise.ca; and Ashton Testing (410-1190 Melville Street, Vancouver) — official booking page on ashtontesting.ca. The exam fee is $390–$410 CAD depending on the centre (checked 2026-10-15), paid online when you book. Create your account on the booking site before you need it: a sitting is only bookable while it still has seats, and popular dates in Vancouver go within minutes.

TCF Canada seats in Vancouver are released on the test centre’s official booking page. To book TCF Canada in Vancouver:

1. Choose the Vancouver centre on the official booking page
2. Pick an available TCF Canada test date and time
3. Pay the exam fee online to confirm

The catch is that popular Vancouver slots often fill within minutes, and the page frequently just shows “no available dates”.

Vancouver is the largest immigration gateway on Canada's west coast, and demand for the French test keeps rising while seats stay tight. Automated monitoring catches releases the instant they happen, so you don't have to refresh the official site all day.

Vancouver works differently from most centres: the Alliance Française publishes the exact date and time registration opens for each batch of sittings in advance on the official page. When that moment comes, the whole batch typically sells out within seconds to a few minutes — so knowing the time is necessary, but not enough.

Three things help. First, you can still win the first release: our Vancouver monitor sends a heads-up as soon as a batch’s opening time is published, and reminds you again a few minutes before it opens, so you are logged in and ready at the exact moment. Second, seats come back after the rush as candidates cancel — the monitor polls the official page 24/7 and emails you the instant one returns, with a direct link. Third, if you would rather not race at all, our team can book the seat for you — ask about the booking service. Start the Vancouver seat monitor →

A fully booked page is almost never final. Vancouver seats come back in two ways — the centre adds new sittings, and other candidates cancel — so openings do reappear, usually only to be taken again within minutes. There are three practical things you can do:

1. Catch the re-releases. Because openings are unannounced and short-lived, what matters is hearing about one within seconds rather than checking a few times a day. A Vancouver seat monitor watches the official booking page 24/7 and emails you the instant a seat opens, with a direct link so you can book right away.
2. Widen where you sit the exam. Vancouver itself has a second centre: Ashton Testing (410-1190 Melville Street) also runs TCF Canada on its own calendar, independent of the Alliance Française, so it is worth watching both (each centre is monitored and subscribed separately). Within British Columbia there is also the Alliance Française de Victoria (1218 Langley Street), whose sittings often fall on different dates, and a BC Ferries day trip is realistic. If you can sit the exam at more than one, watching them together widens your options considerably.
3. Widen when you sit it. If your deadline allows, look further out than the next available sitting: a wider date range simply means more sittings you are eligible to book, and later dates have had less time to fill up than the nearest one everybody is competing for.
